SEENEWS Renewables | DIANA HRISTOVA —
Argentina’s Santa Fe province signed a contract on Wednesday for construction of its first, 1-MW photovoltaic (PV) plant, worth ARS 32 million (USD 3.6m/EUR 3.2m).

The plant will be installed next to San Lorenzo city by Valtellina Sudamericana SA. According to studies, the facility will produce 1.26 GWh a year, with 7,445 sq m (80,140 sq ft) of PV panels.

Santa Fe’s government will channel the proceeds from solar energy sales to new power projects in other parts of the province.

The contract was signed by governor Antonio Bonfatti. Apart from the plant in San Lorenzo, the government wants to auction two PV projects in San Cristobal and Tostado and is working on wind power studies in Rufino and Venado Tuerto, he said.
